Charity Starts at Home
Since the success of our previous charity event – Wallace and Grommet’s Wrong Trousers Day – the Julius Rutherfoord Charity Committee has endeavoured to support charities which are close to our hearts. Over the course of September we have been busy raising funds for essential causes, as well as having fun at the same time.
At the start of September, a Summer Sunshine BBQ was a great way to celebrate the great British Summer of 2012. All proceeds raised from our BBQ were donated to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, a client of Julius Rutherfoord. Considering their offices are located a stone’s throw away from our Head Office, we not only strengthened the existing close relationship with our client, but also supported a local charity.
Battersea Dogs and Cats Home reunites lost dogs and cats with their owners; or care for the animals until new homes can be found. Every year the home cares for over 10,600 dogs and cats. In order for them to continue helping defenceless animals, external funds are required, and we were pleased to have been able to contribute to their worthy cause.
Other charities Julius Rutherfoord has gladly supported over the course of the month include the Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund, who aim to make a positive difference to the lives of children suffering from cancer and leukaemia in the UK; and the Macmillan Cancer Support whom we raised funds for through their World’s Biggest Coffee morning.
Through actively supporting these charities and their events we, as a team at Julius Rutherfoord, are able to give back to our community through opening up our hearts and creating awareness within our company.
