Successful re-tender at West Thames College
West Thames College has become one of Julius Rutherfoord’s flagship educational cleaning contracts. Recently re-built, West Thames is a shining example of a modern higher educational institution.
Our initial contract with West Thames College began on 1st August 2009 for a period of 4 years. This contract recently came up for renewal and we are very happy to report that Julius Rutherfoord was successful in being re-awarded the new contract ahead of some every stiff competition thanks to our strong working relationship with the College and achieving first class cleaning standards that exceed client’s expectations.
The new contract runs for a period of three years with the option of extending for a further 2 years, and has an annual value in excess of £¼ million. In addition to the main college campus, this new contract has also been extended to now include their Feltham Skills Centre, a more vocational skills based centre.
West Thames College was an especially interesting case and the re-awarding of the contract all the more rewarding given that since our appointment in 2009, the college has undergone a total rebuild. The first stage of the rebuild was completed in 2010 and the last phase completed in 2012 and as the building stages were completed and requirements changed, Julius Rutherfoord’s service developed and was tailored to each phase of completion.
The college now comprises of modern state-of-the-art buildings as well as historic Grade II Listed Spring Grove House, former home to Sir Joseph Banks and the Pears family. Our challenge now is maintaining the new-built look of the modern parts and preserving the great heritage in the Great II Listed Spring Grove House whilst each day the college welcomes 350 staff and 6,500 students.
Services currently provided by Julius Rutherfoord include Daily Cleaning and Periodic Deep Cleans during non-term, as well as additional services such as Daytime Cleaning, bespoke Window Cleaning regime, Grounds Maintenance and Unlocking Services. Challenges also include cleaning a variety of environments including hair and beauty studios, a glass atrium, a full-sized theatre and a forensics crime scene studio.
Julius Rutherfoord has transformed the standards of this college and thanks to our dedicated management style, thorough on-going training and by implementing our long-established expertise in cleaning educational establishments, we have earned a very special working relationship and a very satisfied client.
We are extremely proud of our accomplishments at the College and this has been recognised by qualifying as a finalist in the Kimberly-Clark Golden Service Award for the best cleaned educational premises in the UK 2013.
