Celebrating 20 years of excellence from Julius Rutherfoord
May 2014 marks the 20th anniversary for London contract cleaning company Julius Rutherfoord. The company was founded on the 20th May 1994 by Andy Beilby and Dominic Morris-Marsham. Both founding directors still play an active role in the day-to-day running of the business, and Julius Rutherfoord has since successfully grown into one of the leading service providers in its sector.
From humble beginnings – the company originally being run from a spare bedroom – Julius Rutherfoord is now a multi–award winning cleaning contractor with an annual turnover of £16million in 2013. It is one of only a handful of service providers at the premium end of the contract cleaning spectrum and employs 2,150 staff across London from its Battersea HQ.
Julius Rutherfoord has an enviable reputation as an industry leader in quality, innovation, staff security vetting, environmental awareness and corporate social responsibility. The company has shown steady organic year-on-year growth of between 15-18% over the last decade and following recent new business wins it is currently ranked as one of the UK’s top 20 fastest growing privately owned cleaning companies.
Julius Rutherfoord provides daily cleaning services to many household names including: Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, Macmillan Publishing, Institute of Cancer Research, Salvation Army, Amnesty International, Battersea Dogs & Cats home, Caffé Nero, LVMH and the Supreme Court of the UK, to name a few.
Both Andy and Dominic have made it a priority to operate their company in a responsible and sustainable manner. It is a certified ‘Living Wage’ service provider and strictly adheres to its policy of always paying staff more than the minimum wage. It is also accredited to ISO 14001 and has many carbon reducing measures such as the installation of an array of 36 solar panels on the roof of its HQ, as well as a fleet of environmentally friendly vehicles, contributing to a total saving of 173 tonnes of CO2 in 2013 alone.
