Free deep clean for local charity
Each year, Julius Rutherfoord sets aside a budget to perform free cleaning services for a number of local charities. This forms part of our ongoing corporate social responsibility programme.
On 7th October 2014, a team of Julius Rutherfoord cleaners performed a free deep clean at the Faith in Action homeless shelter in the Salvation Army’s Hall in South Wimbledon.
This local charity provides a drop-in centre twice a week for a range of local people including those who are vulnerable, sleeping rough, or with mental health or addiction issues. The Faith in Action drop-In centre offers friendship and a warm welcome to all from the moment they come through the door. In addition, they can obtain:
- Breakfast, snacks and a home-cooked lunch
- Internet access
- Shower and laundry facilities
- Clothes and food parcels
- Activities include table tennis, quizzes, bingo and access to computers.
“Over 30 people have a shower in a day, and in the kitchen over a hundred are catered for. Having these areas deep cleaned has made a big difference for service users and the volunteers working there.” Faith in Action
The free deep clean provides a boost to the cleanliness and appearance of the building and allows the staff at the centre to concentrate of providing their invaluable services.
