The 5th of November is a day of celebration, as spectacular fireworks displays light up the night’s sky. This year, there’s even more to cheer with the launch of Living Wage Week, running from Sunday 5th November to Saturday 11th November.

As part of this annual celebration of the Living Wage and Living Wage supporters, new Living Wage rates will be announced for London and the UK on Monday 6th November. We’re looking forward to attending the launch event in London and we will be part of the Living Wage ‘thunderclap’ – a coordinated tweet of the new rates, organised by the Living Wage Foundation, also on the Monday.

The Living Wage is voluntarily paid by over 3,500 UK businesses. Accredited employers are seeing that paying staff the Living Wage can go hand-in-hand with business growth.

Living Wage rates are higher than government set wage rates because they are independently-calculated based on what people need to get by, reflecting the real cost of living.

We are a Living Wage recognised service provider and actively encourage all clients to adopt the London Living Wage rate for the cleaners on their contracts. We are delighted that many of our discerning clients including Battersea Power Station and City, University of London pay the London Living Wage.

We support the Living Wage because we are committed to improving perceptions of the cleaning industry, and this includes raising the profile of the invaluable work that cleaning operatives perform, often out of hours or behind the scenes. We are dedicated to the well-being of our staff, encouraging self-improvement through continuous training for all our staff and rewarding meticulous work.
